The most influential teacher I've interacted with was my AP Spanish teacher in high school. Professor Zuluaga incorporated all kinds of activities into our learning, which made the classroom fun. He played music for us every day, at the beginning of the week we were assigned a song that he would then play for the entire week (at the beginning of class) and on Friday we would write about the song meaning, the artist and how it affected us. I think this method was helping us with analytical and critical thinking skills. He also played movies for us, made us do skits and essentially created an environment where we were comfortable with each other. Professor Zuluaga also took time to make connections with us individually. His class definitely inspired me to be that teacher that motivates students to show up and learn. But also to be open minded in a classroom because incorporating other tools in class that one might not usually think of can help students learn better or have different points of view while still contributing to their learning.
